Emmeloord, 12 September - Mark Zuidhof will be appointed COO of Agrico as of 16 September. Together with current director Jan van Hoogen (CEO), he will form the Statutory Board of Agrico. Jan van Hoogen will step down as director as of 1 January 2024. Agrico will again have a one-man leadership with Mark Zuidhof as CEO from that moment on. Mark has been working at the cooperative since January 2020 and is now Agrico's Operations Manager.
This temporary adjustment of the management structure is chosen in order to realize a 'warm transfer' of tasks, authorities and responsibilities. Chairman of the Supervisory Board Adrie Vermeulen: ”We strive for a careful process without time pressure during the transfer. This does justice to the nature, size and complexity of the company and its participations. Agrico also has an important position in the industry, both nationally and internationally. Jan van Hoogen has always made great efforts to achieve this. This position must of course be maintained in the event of a change of management. That is why we are very pleased that we have a suitable internal candidate who, thanks to a transition period, can carefully adapt. In this way we guarantee the continuity of the company.” Zuidhof will take over more and more positions from Van Hoogen over the time that they form the board together.
Jan van Hoogen has been working for Agrico since 1989, of which more than 10 years as CEO. Adrie Vermeulen: “After his resignation as Statutory Director as of January 1, 2024, he will remain associated with Agrico as an advisor for a few months to carry out a number of jobs for the cooperative, but these are separate from the management”.
Jan van Hoogen is pleased with the way in which the transfer is being designed. “As everyone who knows me will be aware, I am deeply committed to Agrico. I am very happy that the company is doing well, thanks to the efforts of the employees. I think it is time to make way for a successor and I am happy that we have a good internal candidate with Mark, with whom I have already worked intensively and pleasantly.” Mark Zuidhof: “It is an honor and also a challenge to succeed Jan. He is an authority in our industry. I will do everything in my power to advance the position of our company. Of course I already know Agrico well from my current position, I feel very involved in the cooperative and I consider myself fortunate that I will have the time to absorb Jan's knowledge and experiences. I look forward to that collaboration.”
